The Ayurvedic doctor will then explain your dosha type and any imbalances. Ayurveda seeks to restore balance in your mind, body, and spirit by creating a personalised treatment program which the doctor will talk you through. What is Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a traditional holistic healing system that originated in India over 5000 years ago. It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body and spirit. Ayurvedic medicine is focused on identifying and addressing imbalances in the mind, body and spirit to restore balance and harmony in all aspects of life.
Ayurveda recognises that each person requires a personalised approach to healing based on their unique combination of doshas (energies), of which there are three types – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Ayurvedic doctors use various techniques to promote healing and balance the doshas, including diet and lifestyle recommendations, specific Ayurvedic treatments, detoxification therapies, massage, yoga, meditation and breathwork.
Whilst Ayurveda is considered an alternative/complementary medicine in Australia, Ayurveda is recognised as a traditional system of medicine in India, where it sits alongside Western medicine.

The Benefits Of Ayurveda

Ayurvedic medicine offers a comprehensive approach to health that can help to improve physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. It prescribes an ayurvedic lifestyle aimed at both treating illness and promoting wellness to guide you towards achieving and maintaining optimum health.

Holistic Approach

Ayurveda focuses on treating the person as a whole rather than just treating the symptoms of a disease. It considers the individual’s physical, mental, dietary, lifestyle and emotional factors to help address the root cause of an illness.

Personalised Treatment Plans

Ayurveda recognises that each person is unique and provides a personalised treatment plan customised to suit your body type (Dosha).

Natural Wellness

Ayurvedic treatment uses natural remedies, herbs, spices, oils and food as medicine. Natural medicines offer a chemical-free, gentle approach to health and work with the body’s natural healing processes. Natural remedies are often non-invasive and can be used for long-term health maintenance without long-term side effects.

Stress Reduction

Stress is believed to be a major contributor to many illnesses. Ayurveda is focused on creating balance and harmony in all areas of life and emphases self-care and stress reduction through proven techniques such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness and breathwork.

Disease Prevention

Ayurveda focuses on preventing disease by promoting healthy habits and lifestyle choices, such as regular exercise, meditation and a balanced diet.
